The following are seasonal part-time or full-time hourly positions, weather permitting. Shifts typically run between 9am and 5pm. Between July 1 and Labor Day.

BARTENDER
Water Park Tiki Bar

Our bar offers a small selections of beers, wines, and cocktails during our water park hours, typically 11 AM - 5 PM. Please keep in mind when applying for this position that we are not a high-traffic bar so starting pay is current RI minimum wage with the opportunity to make tips. This is a great opportunity for new bartenders!

  • BAR SERVICES
    • Prepare & Serve cocktails or other refreshments.

  • CUSTOMER SERVICE
    • Assist guests with directions, questions, sales, etc.
    • Sales & Point-of-sale transactions for bar and/or snack bar area

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • State Law requires a certificate upon completion of an alcohol awareness/safety. You must have a bartender's license to work in this position.
  • Must have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Must be able to frequently communicate and develop rapport with guests and associates and have a working relationship with the resort management team.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Must be able to regularly lift/move supplies, some upwards of 25lbs.
  • Work in a loud, active, and humid work environment.
  • Ability to maintain personal hygiene.

SNACK BAR ATTENDANT

  • SNACK BAR DUTIES
    • Takes orders & runs register
    • Prepares meal and beverage ingredients
    • Unloading, stocking, & storage of ingredients and supplies
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE
    • Assist guests with directions, questions, sales, etc.
    • Sales & Point-of-sale transactions for bar and/or snack bar area
    • Assist others as needed
    • Interacting with guests with positive energy and hospitality

LIFEGUARD
Water Park / Summer Camp

  • LIFEGUARD DUTIES
    • Ensure the safety of the guests and prevent injuries by supervising pools and surrounding areas.
    • Maintain all aquatics/pool standards and enforce all rules.
    • Accurately and completely fill out all paperwork required to coincide with any first aid administered in a timely manner to ensure documentation can be distributed to appropriate personnel.
    • During slower periods, cleanliness and sanitation of Waterpark are expected to be performed by all staff. Management may provide specific lists based on needs.
    • Wear proper attire and whistle in accordance with dress code standards.
    • Attend staff meetings and training as required.
    • Communicate all pool rules professionally and ensure that you are accessible and identifiable.
    • Follows established safety procedures. Complies with all policies and procedures.
    • Enforcing policies and safety procedures at waterpark attractions, slides, pools, concessions, and activities. 
    • This position also performs various tasks relating to activities, concessions, cleaning, and other duties as assigned.

  • Must be lifeguard & CPR certified, experience not required. (only pool certification required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, guests, and staff members.

  • Ability to be prompt and work scheduled work shifts.
  • Knowledge of the standards of care in the industry.
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently.
  • Must be firm, fair, consistent, and courteous in order to gain respect and cooperation from the public.
  • The knowledge that their decisions may affect the total facility staff and the lives of others.
  • Must have emotional stability and the ability to make sound decisions that conform to facility policies when dealing with adverse situations.

SLIDE ATTENDANT

    • Interacting with guests with energy and service
    • Enforcing park safety rules
    • Keeping area free of debris and clean for guests
    • Ensuring that guests are clear from slide so that others can proceed.
    • Ensuring the safety of facility patrons by assisting patrons at the top or bottom of the slide.

Winter Employment

Winter operations begin in early December with hiring typically starting in late-October or early-November. Winter positions are either part-time or full-time seasonally and include perks such as free skiing & riding!

With the exception of a Ski & Snowboard Instructor or National Ski Patroller, all positions may be applied for at any time. See applicable sections below for information on Instructor & Patroller positions.

We are a winter operations facility, which means  All applicants must be comfortable commuting in winter conditions as we operate during inclement weather including snowstorms unless extreme cases force us to close.

 Applications may now be submitted for winter 2021-2022, however, keep in mind that some departments do not start hiring until December.

Yawgoo Valley is hiring SNOWBOARD INSTRUCTORS for the upcoming 2021-2022 season. Applicants must be available to work weekends starting January 2022.

Applicants must be 16 years of age, have their own equipment, and be able to attend fall training sessions at Yawgoo. The instructor training course fee is $120, the fee may be waived for experienced instructors. SKI INSTRUCTOR applicants may still apply.

The Yawgoo Valley Snow Sports Instructor Course (ITC) or Apprentice Training Course (ATC) is held in the fall prior to the start of each season. The course is an opportunity for you to gain the skills and an understanding of effectively delivering a lesson while improving your own skiing/riding. The instructor training course takes place during the season, candidates will not receive benefits until completion of course and schedule commitments.

Instructors: ** Must be at least 16 years old by 12/1/21   **

Apprentice Instructors: ** Must be at least 14 years old by 12/1/21    **

Patroller Candidates

National Ski Patrol members have a strong desire to help others, learn emergency care techniques, improve their skiing and snowboarding skills, and enhance the safety and enjoyment of snow sports for all. First on. Last off.

Rental Shop

TECHNICIAN

Assist guests to complete their purchase as well as answer questions about the gear or products. Ski & Snowboard experience a plus!

Ages 18+

LIFT OPERATIONS

ATTENDANT

Attend chair lifts, snow removal related to lifts or as assigned, customer service. Ages 18+, friendly, works well with others and independently, working in outdoor winter conditions.

RETAIL SHOP

SALES CLERK

Fit customers with skis, snowboards, and boots, maintaining clean gear and work area. Ages 18+, friendly & patient personality, attention to detail, customer service skills, able to handle fast-paced environment, prior knowledge of snow sports equipment is ideal.

FOOD SERVICE

Cook

Prep, prepare and serve food, customer service, stocking, cleanup, trash pickup, operate grill & fryers, etc.

Cashier

Operate register, open and/or close food service areas, maintain, stock, and clean food service areas, provide customer service. Friendly & patient personality, accurate math skills, customer service skills, able to handle fast-paced environment.
