Terms & Conditions

Aerial Drones

Aerial Drones

For guests, employees, and resort property, as well as concerns for individual privacy, Yawgoo Valley Ski Area & Water Park prohibit the operation or use of unmanned aerial systems, or drones, by the general public - including recreational users and hobbyists - without the prior written authorization from the Resort. This prohibition includes drones used for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone use by media or journalists operating above or within the Resort's boundaries. This prohibition on drone operations or use extends to any drones launched or operated from Resort property, as well as drones launched from private property outside of the Resort boundaries. Please contact our Risk Management/Safety department if you have any questions or if you seek prior authorization to operate any aerial drones.

Any authorized operation of aerial drones may be governed by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) rules and regulations, local law enforcement, as well as those policies separately established by the Resort, which may include certification, training, insurance coverage, indemnification requirements, and waivers or releases of liability. Any violation of this policy may involve suspension of your skiing or snowboarding privileges, or the revocation of your pass, as well as confiscation of any drone equipment, and may subject violators to any damages, including, but not limited to, damages for violations of privacy and/or physical or personal injuries or property damage, as well as regulatory fines and legal fees.

Alcohol, Smoking, Vaping, & Illegal Substances

Alcohol is not permitted to be brought on to the premises. Consumption of alcohol is limited to the Upstairs Lounge or Tiki Bar in Summer. Excessive consumption of alcohol is cause for removal from the premises without a refund.

We ask that our guests refrain from smoking or vaping ANY substance use within 25 feet of any public structure, in lift lines, gathering areas, parking lot, or while riding a chair or tow lift.

Are not permitted on the premises. Anyone suspected of being under the influence will be reported to the Rhode Island State Police for assistance.

Animals & Pets

While we love animals too, they do messy things in the snow and could pose a risk to our other guests. Even if your pup is the most well-trained good boy, we ask that you leave them at home for their own safety as well as the safety of other guests and service animals.

Properly documented service animals are always permitted on the property.

Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. Generally, service animals can only be dogs (or, under very rare circumstances, miniature horses). Service Animals shall be under the control of their handlers at all times. Unless the handler is unable to do so, or the use of such device interferes with the safe, effective function of the animal's duties, Service Animals shall be on harness, leash, bridle or another type of tether at all times, in public areas. Where this is not possible due to one of the aforementioned conditions the Service Animal shall be under the handler's control through other means (e.g. voice commands, hand signals). Any disabled guest who is assisted by a Service Animal shall have access to all public areas of the resort. In the interests of safety, Service Animals shall not be permitted on ski lifts, as there is no means to evacuate them safely should the lift stop. The resort may, at its discretion, offer alternative transportation should it be absolutely required. Resort personnel may ask for the removal of a Service Animal from public areas if the handler is unable to maintain control of the animal, if the animal's behavior is deemed dangerous, or if the animal is not properly housebroken. Reasonable effort will be taken by the resort to facilitate the disabled guest's participation in resort activities, in the instance, a Service Animal is removed for cause.

Conduct & Behavoir

As a family-friendly facility, Yawgoo Valley expects guests at the park to behave in a pleasant, positive, and respectful manner towards all other individuals. As such, Yawgoo Valley will not tolerate the following behavior and reserves the right to confiscate lift tickets or season passes without refund and without warning, and/or deny services in the following circumstances: Apparent drunkenness or being under the influence of drugs; Open use of alcohol or drugs anywhere in public on the mountain; Serious disorderly conduct including but not limited to fighting, damaging property, apparent theft, interference with and/or endangerment of others; Jumping off a chairlift or actively swinging or bouncing a chair; Throwing any object off a chairlift; Using profanity or vulgar language in the presence of children; Verbally abusing any person or employee at the ski area; or any other appropriate case.

In general, Yawgoo Valley will issue one warning in the following circumstances before lift tickets or season passes will be confiscated without refund: Skiing closed trails or areas not designated for skiing; Cutting in front of other people in a lift line; Interference with or endangering others (and/or self); Skiing too close to others, out of control, or colliding with others; Skiing on terrain beyond one's ability; Repeated use of offensive or vulgar language; or any other appropriate case. Yawgoo Valley reserves the right to confiscate lift tickets, season passes for any repeat offenses and/or or deny services at the sole discretion of management. The risk management office will call the parent of any child under the age of 18 for infractions and/or behavior problems. In the event a parent/guardian cannot be reached the RI State Police will be brought in to mediate.

COVID-19

Sanitizer Stations have been set-up around the facility including at the entrance of the park and other high-traffic areas. While we currently use cleaning products and protocols which meet EPA guidelines and are CDC approved for use and are effective against viruses, bacteria, and other airborne and blood-borne pathogens, we will increase cleaning and sanitation of all areas, with a focus on "high-touch" areas including railings, handles, counters, restrooms, point of sale machines, ski & board rental equipment, food-service areas, and more. We are working with our vendors, distribution partners, and suppliers to ensure the uninterrupted availability of these cleaning supplies and the necessary PPE's. We ask guests to please not linger so we can promptly clean for the next session.

REDUCED CAPACITIES & NEW LESSON TIMES

We have reduced the program capacity by a third and have changed the structure to accommodate smaller class sizes while still being able to offer a variety of age groups, sport type, and experience level classes daily. We have also incorporated classes earlier in the day to offer an option for home school or e-learners. Classes will have a maximum student ratio of 6 per 1 instructor.

COMMUNICATION

COVID-19 Policies, reminders, and spacing marker information will be posted throughout the facility, as well as on our website, and included with program literature. Guests are asked to review policies to familiarize themselves prior to their visit.

FOOD & DRINK AREAS

All indoor facility capacities will be limited. We are currently considering more outdoor seating with heat where possible, but guests are encouraged to dress appropriately for winter sports. At this time we do not know if outside foods will be permitted.

STAFF SCREENING & TRAINING

All staff members will be trained in proper cleaning & sanitizing, ways to reduce the risk of spread, and how to recognize symptoms. Additionally, protocols will be in place for all departments on how to handle exposure in the event a guest or employee must quarantine. Our staff is instructed to wear face-coverings at-all-times.

The most important element in this plan is we ask of all parents, guardians, and/or participants as well as staff:

If you, your child, or any member of your household is experiencing fever, nausea, cough, sneezing, body aches, fatigue, or any other unexplained symptoms or you may have been exposed to COVID-19 - you may not attend classes or be on property until you provide a physician's note or proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

STUDENT PREP

While COVID-19 life is not new to us or our children, still we ask parents discuss the importance of social distancing, proper hygiene and face-coverings prior to the start of each lesson.

SOCIAL DISTANCING & SCREENINGS

Given that physical distancing will not always be possible during the lesson, such as when the group rides lifts, all participants (or legal guardians) will be required to perform at-home screening and temperature checks prior to arriving for the lesson. Parents are responsible for ensuring children or any member of their family are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 prior to attending any class.

SPECTATORS & GUESTS

Indoor access will be limited, including seating - we ask you to limit the number of guests you bring to spectate and/or remain in your vehicle if possible. We will not limit the number of guests outdoors, however, there are restrictions on where you may wait for your student. When possible, maintain distance from other guests who are not in your household.

FACE COVERING

Face-coverings and eye protection are nothing new to the snow sports world, so wearing a face covering while skiing and riding will be a breeze for you! Guests are required to wear face-coverings, specifically while indoors, within 6 feet of other guests.

HYGIENE & RESPIRATORY ETIQUETTE

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, touched a public surface that others may have touched or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. Alternatively, hand sanitizer may be used in place of soap & water. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Clean up after yourself.

PERSONAL BELONGINGS

Storage of personal belongings will be restricted indoors, and guests are encouraged to keep personal belongings with them or in their vehicle. We are not responsible for lost or stolen belongings. Always lock your skis or boards. Per the RI State Fire Marshall, Skis, Boards, & Poles are NOT permitted inside the buildings.

Bathroom access will be limited indoors due to spacing. Allow time for restroom use as there may be waits. We strongly recommend parents/guardians encourage their children to use the restroom and be dressed if possible before arriving at the facility. Additionally, inside access will be limited to guests dining or accessing the Pro Shop. Masks are required in all indoor locations.

Daily Tickets

By purchasing a lift ticket, you agree to all terms and conditions and agree to adhere to all park policies. Pricing is per person, we do not pro-rate missed or unused portions of tickets. Lift tickets are NOT valid at the Snow Tubing Park. Special online rates are only available online.

Website Accessibility

Yawgoo Valley Ski Area & Water Park is faithful to providing a website that is as accessible as we are. We are in the process of using best efforts to implement the recommendations of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) as published by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). There is no single definitive test of conformance to Level AA of the WCAG but we have used a variety of methods for assessing our accessibility, not limited to but including physical tests using screen readers and keyboard only. If you find a part of the site that you feel does not conform to Level AA of the WCAG or are having difficulty getting the information you need, please use one of the methods below to let us know so that we can rectify it.

• Contact us by phone at (833) 875-5479
• Contact us via our Contact form.
• Contact us via email: help@yawgoo.com

Furthermore

  • Valley Ski Area & Water Park is striving to make every page accessible to users but cannot guarantee that every page conforms to WCAG 2.0 Level AA.
    • Some pages have partial conformance due to the use of 3rd party vendors. As such Yawgoo Valley Ski Area & Water Park does not claim full site-wide Conformance, instead of a partial conformance, as defined by WCAG Level AA 2.0. Valley Ski Area & Water Park cannot ensure the conformance of crucial third-party plug-ins and widgets.
    • Our conformance claims only extend to pages within the http://www.yawgoo.com domain.
    • Valley Ski Area & Water Park has used WCAG guidelines for conformance as suggested by the Department of Justice. Though some of the conformance found in WCAG conforms with 508 Compliance, we are not 508 Compliant.
    • Valley Ski Area & Water Park chose to use WCAG for conformance because they are determined by the W3C, the consortium that makes the guidelines for the Internet, worldwide.
    • We are in the process of converting our PDFs to conformant versions. If you find one that does not conform or is not readable, please contact us so we may send you the information in a format that works for you.
    • Valley Ski Area & Water Park uses automated testing as a baseline for conformance but understands W3C's position that "(t)here is as yet no tool that can perform a completely automatic assessment on the checkpoints in the guidelines, and fully automatic testing may remain difficult or impossible".
