Is there a difference between renting and leasing ski or snowboard equipment?

Yes. When you rent, it is for a specific day session and is returned to the Rental Shop immediately following your session. Leasing is done through the Retail Shop and equipment is for your use throughout the lease period.

No, when you rent you must return the equipment to the rental shop as soon as your session ends. If you wish to take equipment home, you can either purchase or lease from our retail shop.

You must first go to the Ticket Window where you will pay for your equipment rental, area pass and/or lessons. At the ticket window, you will be given a form to present at the rental shop. The shop will fit you and present you with your rentals.

If you are not 18, a parent or guardian must accompany you to the ticket window and then to the rental shop to sign the form. You must be 18 years old to sign a rental form. You must have a valid drivers license or use a Visa or MasterCard to pay for your rentals.

Partial sets can be rented. You may also rent boots if you have your own skis/snowboard. If renting skis, you must bring the boots to the rental shop so that the techs can check settings and fit the boots to a binding. It is easier to do this if you are NOT wearing the boots.

If you have reserved a Private Lesson and you have been pre-fit we will set your equipment up for your lesson time. Rentals for the pre-paid 5 Week Program are also set up for your lesson time. Otherwise, we do not reserve equipment.

The largest adult ski boots we have are a size 16, snowboard boots, size 15. Our smallest childs ski boot is a size 5, smallest junior ski boot is a size 1, smallest junior snowboard boot is a size 1.

The next page is a copy of the rental form. We have provided it to you so that you know what to expect and should you have any questions you can call in advance to have them answered. Call the main office 401 294-3802 ext. 115 with any questions.

I will accept full responsibility for the care of the listed equipment. I will make no misrepresentations regarding the user’s height, weight, age, or skier type. I will read section 3 of this agreement and will be responsible for obtaining all of the information referred to in that section and providing it to the user of this equipment.

I understand skiing, snowboarding or ski blading are HAZARDOUS activities with inherent risks of injury that reasonable care, caution, instruction, and expertise cannot eliminate, that injuries are common and ordinary occurrences during these activities. I hereby agree, freely and voluntarily, to ASSUME and accept any and ALL RISKS of injury and death to any part of the user’s body while skiing, snowboarding or ski blading. (Please Initial_________)

If Alpine ski equipment is being furnished, I understand that it forms a part of or all of a ski- boot- binding system which will release the boot form the ski when certain forces are applied to the system, but that it will NOT RELEASE OR RETAIN at all times or under all circumstances, and that its use CANNOT guarantee the user’s safety or freedom from any injury while in use. I further agree and understand that any ski- boot- binding system does NOT ELIMINATE THE RISK of injuries to the user’s knees or to any other part of this user’s body.

If Snowboard or Ski Blade equipment is being furnished, I understand that these systems normally will NOT RELEASE in falls and accidents and that they do NOT PROTECT against any type of injury.

To the fullest extent allowed by law, I hereby RELEASE this ski shop, as well as the manufacturers and distributors of this equipment, from ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY OR LEGAL LIABILITY for any injuries or damages to any user of any equipment listed on this form, whether or not such injuries or damages are caused by NEGLIGENCE or any other cause. I further agree that I WILL INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS AND NEVER SUE or make a claim against this ski shop, as well as the manufacturers and distributors of this equipment and that I will defend and indemnify them in any claim or action is pursued for any injuries or damages related to skiing, snowboarding or ski blading and/or the use of this equipment. I accept this equipment “AS IS”, with NO WARRANTIES, express or implied. This document constitutes the final and entire agreement regarding this transaction. If any part is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remainder shall be given full force and effect.

THIS IS A CONTRACT which provides a COMPREHENSIVE RELEASE OF LIABILITY, but is not intended to assert any claims or defenses that are prohibited by law. The specific legal rights of the parties may vary from state to state.

I understand how this ski (snowboard)-boot-binding system works and I have been fully instructed in its proper use. Any questions I have had about this equipment have been satisfactorily answered. I agree that the binding release/retention setting numbers appearing

in the visual indicator windows on the binding correspond to those recorded on this form (Alpine only), and I will not use this equipment if any parts are worn, damaged, or missing.

I will have the user read the manufacturers written instructions (new equipment only). I will provide all of this information to the user. I have read, understood, and fully agree to the terms and conditions set forth in Section (1) of this form.
